The Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) works to create and sustain an environment conducive to the development of India, partnering industry, Government, and civil society, through advisory and consultative processes. CII is a non-government, not-for-profit, industry-led and industry-managed organization, playing a proactive role in India's development process. Founded in 1895, India's premier business association has over 8000 members, from the private as well as public sectors, including SMEs and MNCs, and an indirect membership of over 200,000 enterprises from around 240 national and regional sectoral industry bodies. CII charts change by working closely with Government on policy issues, interfacing with thought leaders, and enhancing efficiency, competitiveness and business opportunities for industry through a range of specialized services and strategic global linkages. It also provides a platform for consensus-building and networking on key issues.

Bernard van Leer Foundation (BvLF) is an international grantmaking foundation based in The Hague. Our mission is to improve opportunities for young children who are growing up in socially and economically difficult circumstances. We see this both as a valuable end in itself and as a long-term means to promoting more cohesive, considerate and creative societies with equal opportunities and rights for all.

Urban95 is the Bernard van Leer Foundation's shorthand for designing cities that address these issues in support of healthy child development. It is an initiative through which we want to pose a question to city leaders, urban planners, architects and engineers: If you could see the city from an elevation of 95 cm – the average height of a healthy 3-year-old – what would you do differently? As

they consider this question and come up with answers, we will work together to develop and test practical ideas that can inform the way the cities of the future are planned, designed and managed. There is a strong evidence that a safe and healthy environment during the first five years of life can translate to better adult health outcomes, greater ability to learn and work with others, and higher lifetime incomes. By better understanding the life of a toddler today we can foreshadow the kind of residents cities are likely to have 20 or 30 years down the road.
